Leave your ship in port to see the sights of Egypt's second city. Visit Qaitbay Citadel, the reconstructed Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the Kom Al Shoqafa Catacombs and Pompay's Pillar.
Your tour guide and driver will pick you up from Alexandria Port for a wonderful day tour of Alexandria to visit Pompay's Pillar. It was constructed in honor of the Emperor Diocletian at the end of the 4th century. Originally from the temple of the Serapis, it was once a magnificent structure, rivaling the Soma and the Caesarean.
Then you drive to visit the Catacombs which are the largest Roman Cemetery consisting of three levels cut in the rock. Lunch at local restaurant (Optional) in Alexandria, and then we proceed to see the Qaitbay Citadel which was built on the site of the ancient pharaohs (lighthouse) of Alexandria then to Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
Finally, you will transferred back to your cruise ship at Alexandria Port.

On average in summer the minimum temperature is 20°C and the maximum is 30°C, occasionally reaching 40°C. In winter, the average is 10°C as minimum temperature and 20°C as maximum.
Appropriate clothing based on temperatures, something warm in winter and loose clothing in summer. Strong, comfortable closed-toe shoes are a good choice to protect your feet from sand, dust, or mud. It is better to leave the sandals for the beach areas. Egypt is a predominantly Muslim country, but female tourists are not required by law to follow the dress code. However, it is advisable to dress conservatively. The recommended garments are a blouse with a high neck and sleeves, loose pants or a skirt below the knee. Tight or see-through clothing will be avoided. For men, normal long pants, shirts and t-shirts with sleeves are recommended.
In tourist areas, major credit cards, euros and US dollars are widely accepted. However, it is good to have some Egyptian pound notes and coins for tips, minor purchases and small shops
