The tour begins with a brief overview of the city, from the bus window you will enjoy the panorama of the picturesque Kusadasi and your liner ship from a bird's eye perspective.
The way to Ephesus will take approximately 20 minutes, the highway passes through the beautiful slopes of mountains and green valleys with vineyards. The famous Theater of Ephesus will amaze you from quite far away distance. We will spend about two hours inside of the city of Ephesus walking along the marble streets as Marcus Aurelius and Cleopatra, St. Paul, and the great Roman emperors have done long time ago. We will visit the parliament buildings, libraries, latrines and theaters, we will approach the sacred temple of eternal fire, fountains and even a brothel, we will see encrypted symbols of the era of early Christianity and even antique advertisement for a brothel; we will feel the depth of the acoustics at one of the largest theaters in the ancient world.
After Ephesus, we will drive up to the mountains to see the House of the Holy Virgin Mary, where she supposedly spent her last years of life. The climbing will take about ten minutes, you will be amazed by the magnificent views of the city of Selcuk, the Ottoman fortress and the Basilica of the St. John, built on his grave and where he supposedly wrote his Gospel. In the House you will have the opportunity to light candles, wash yourself with healing holy water and purchase holy icons.
On the way back we will stop at the Temple of Artemis which was one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.
There is an option of visiting (for a separate fee) the Ottoman fortress and the Basilica of St. John the Apostle, and also the village of winemakers Shirince for tasting wines.
