The Snaefellsnes peninsula was formed about 7 million years ago as a result of volcanic activity, and its coastline cuts deep into the sea with basalt columns and boulders of hardened lava.
This peninsula is rightly called "Iceland in miniature". Here, in a small area, there is a volcano, and a glacier, and waterfalls, and lava formations, and caves.
One of the main attractions of the peninsula are the Gerduberg basalt columns. They formed right in the cliff in the form of geometrically correct columns.
Breidafjordur Bay is one of the natural attractions, which offers a magnificent panorama of rocks and mountains, and at low tide you can see up to five hundred islets.
The tour is suitable for hikers and cruisers.
